Anna Paquin is a New Zealand-Canadian film, theatre, and television actress known for her roles in films like 'The Piano and 'Fly Away Home,' and the X-Men. The actress entered the world of film as a child artist in The Piano, for which she was awarded the Academy Award' for 'Best actor in a supporting role aged eleven. She had not planned to be an actor, but fate decided otherwise. The actress turned down a number of offers she received after the success of her debut film in order to focus on her studies. The film returned when she was 14 years old to play the mutant Rogue in X-Men which was the very initial film of the X-Men film series. The role earned her worldwide fame. Her character was portrayed by 'Rogue' for the rest of her life in 'X-Men,' and also re-enacting the character in other sequels such as X2 and X-Men: The Last Stand. In addition, she has played small screen roles, including as Elaine Goodale, in a movie titled 'Bury my Heart' in Wounded Knee. For this role she received nominations for her first 'Emmy'.
